Entry 17

Work's going to be a bit slow this week on Unfathomed and next week will probably have little-to-no progress for it; I'll be picking up progress past that point, though. I'm still happy to share some of the progress I've made though as I continue to work on the first four missions of the game.

Previously, I was going to make little geysers in the tunnels for Mission 2 which would occasionally erupt with jetties of darkness that could potentially instantly onboard a Darkness Entity onto your ship. Unfortunately, the actual test flight of the feature didn't go great in my runs as seeing the jets was near-impossible due to the particular set up of my shaders for the exterior cam. So, I'm switching things up by instead getting the player to work on their thrust control skills rather than their observation skills. (I'll be moving that to a later mission). Enter the FEZS-04-VII Laser Exclusion System, courtesy of the Foundation (who is also who you can thank for the minefields in Missions 1 and 2). Of course, though the MK VIII is fragile to impacts it is highly defensible versus electromagnetic interferences of any kind, including high-powered photonic emissions (aka lasers). So instead of the ship getting hurt if you run into these fields, the power will drop out and you, the pilot, will get hurt by the sudden and sharp increase of interior heat.
