V001b Patchnotes


The Prototype is being updated to resolve presently known bugs. In this update:

Fixed

* Investigators not properly duplicating on same-session-run

* Pantheon not refreshing on same-session-run

* GameManager was carrying over to new game instances, causing database confusion

* When checking to see if critical stats were negative and your Last Chance had been exhausted, the system failed to check the stat it was adjusting, thus causing stamina decreases to potentially result in death by negative willpower if willpower was negative and vice versa. Now it treats the stats separately and checks them separately.

* Enemies were not displaying their names properly in the combat system

* Cultist and Stalker had improper delays for their combat start and so began combat by immediately attacking, sometimes resulting in player death before actions could be taken.

* Player pain indicator had inverted tween processing, resulting in the screen being and staying red at the start of the confrontation. Now it plays properly only when the player has been struck.

* Character image and chosen name are now properly assigned to the character panel during play.

Changed

* While drawing game events, the card draw system now attempts to avoid drawing a card it just drew. This should dramatically decrease the chance of encountering the same event twice in a row.

* Death screen now properly shows itself

* The Wanderer now comes with a fresh sandwich in their starting inventory.

Added

* Added a Dice Tray to show your rolls to the character panel (this will later be a self-fading popup screen)

* Some of the Locations now have more deliberate icons.

* Forest and General Store have been given icons to signal that they are visit-able Locations, not all art is implemented though so it'll look a bit mish-mash at this time.

* Support for patching through the Itch.io App via Butler for decreased download sizes and faster updates!

* New Character: The Professor (Investigator); a higher risk-reward character with high Willpower and Mystique but low physical stats and who starts with a rusty lantern in their inventory and an appreciable amount of funds.

Known Issues

* When the player strikes an enemy, their pain indicator lights up as well.

* Currently starting equipment is not being properly displayed on the character selection menu.

* Banishment was a little too powerful and banished the *concept* of a God rather than their iteration. Recommended you don't banish all the Gods unless you wish to win a victory by default! This will be fixed next-patch.

* If character name is not modified, character name will be blank when in-game. The Moirai will be instructed that an awkward pause as a name is a very awkward thing to allow and to provide Investigators a name if their parents didn't deliberately want their child's name to be the concept of emptiness.

* You can repeatedly banish the same God due to the Moirai not checking to see if the God is already being escorted out of the timeline. This is fixed next-patch.

* Using the Memorize Action results in a breaking script error, causing things to get funky throughout the world and for your Investigator to panic and be unable to do anything useful.

* Despite being told to try drawing other cards, often the Moirai will draw the same card anyway. Some training with them on what 'try to draw other cards' means will take place by next patch.

* The Librarian of City Hall's reliquary has decided she was too shy to greet folks on the first public launch. By next patch she will be lured out of hiding with mint cookies and iced rose tea with exactly three 3 cubes of sugar stirred in.

* The icon for Strength is the same icon set for Stamina. The Moirai have been taught the difference and by next patch they'll be shown differently.
