V001c Patchnotes



Howdy and welcome! This is To Ash and Ember's version 001c patchnotes and I'm happy you've dropped by to see what's new.

Thanks to everyone who submitted bugs, logs, and suggestions and feedback on the initial launch! There was a ton of good info in there and you've already made a large impact on the look, feel, and play of the game. Keep those reports and comments coming!

There won't be that many features added in v001c due to my focus on resolving existing bugs and clarifying some critical stuff. That said, roll the notes!

Added

  • Symbolized Save Choice button labels. (e.g. '[Mystique 3] Decipher the Ancient Book' will now be presented as '[ (Mystique Icon) Challenging]' where 'Challenging' represents how difficult the skill check is versus your related stat.
  • Full set of new attribute icons to accompany the above changes, bringing all stat icons into the art style of the rest of the game.
  • When you hover your mouse over a stat a tooltip will appear to let you know what that stat is called. A mini-tutorial has been added to the investigator selection screen to teach this.
  • If you hover over the 'how difficult will this be' text on choice buttons a pop-up appears with more information such as how many dice you'd be rolling, what the target number of successes would be, and a percentage-based estimate for how likely it is you'll achieve success if you choose that option.

Changed

  • A subordinate button has been added to the Stats tab that brings up the Investigator's inventory for quicker access as a temporary solution.
  • Reduced the dice size in the dice tray so that it fits more neatly within it and moved it to the bottom of the Investigator's panel.
  • When opened, inventory menu grabs the selection and sets it to the first item in the player's inventory.
  • The game now attempts to scale to fit your resolution. Some artifacts are to be expected though; please let me know if any occur.
  • Mode buttons at top of character panel have been enlarged.
  • Stat maximums for Willpower and Stamina are now correctly set and displayed in-game.

Fixed

  • The Moirai can banish a God only once and temporarily. True banishment is a power that rests in the hands of intrepid, iron-willed and steel-hearted Investigators!
  • Investigators will be given a name if no name is given to them; if they're given a name then that name will be canonized.
  • Memorize no longer causes eldritch nightmares to spring forth and paralyze the Investigator's will, allowing combat to be less chaos.
  • The Moirai will try much harder to draw a new card rather than draw a card that was recently drawn. This can presently result in a little hesitation from the Moirai but further training in the future will see that hesitation lessened further.
  • City Hall's event deck has been unlocked, allowing Investigators to meet its reclusive Librarian.
  • An Investigator's starting equipment is now properly displayed with their character introduction panel. The Moirai now know what 'lanterns' and 'sandwiches' are and so can properly record them.
  • The icon for Strength was the same as Stamina; this has been resolved.
  • Inventory Button no longer spawns multiple panels when clicked multiple times.
  • Moving your cursor off an inventory item no longer causes the screen to blank.

Known Issues

  • Have not been able to resolve why some enemies attack faster than should be allowed. Thinking this is due to how the instantiation works from EncounterManager and ConfrontationManager but still testing.
  • Background icons are being used as the backgrounds for locations rather than the full backgrounds that were available. This is due to a variable and receiver not yet being set up to receive that. This will be fixed by next patch.
  • There are a few buttons here and there that may show a duplicate on the front and end if you would be spending a stat for a choice (e.g. [Funds -3] (text) [Funds -3]). This will be resolved by next patch.
