V010 "Last Gasp of Winter" Patchnotes
Fixed
Near-impossible checks were breaking the text formatter for event buttons. This has been fixed so that formatting will no longer break. The Save DCs and attribute checks were incorrect on the tooltip for probability calcuations; this has been resolved and is now much more accurate.
Corrected initial XP display to show proper starting XP value.
Danger Level indicators now properly show the level of Danger in a Location.
Permanent modifications to stats are now properly displayed on the Character Panel.
Changed
Escape now has a flat 50% chance to allow an escape from combat.
The Forest now has a base Danger Level of 2.
A large amount of changes have been made to the backend system for creating events, making complex events even easier to build than before.
The link to Itch.io has been switched with a link to Steam to allow folks to Wishlist the game while it's still Coming Soon.
The Stat/Gear/Skill modebox has been removed and moved into the new Character Sheet window (replaces Inventory button)
The Event Panel has been made bigger and the accompanying text has also been given more room to breathe in hopes this will all combine to make for better reading quality; still looking at alternatives due to it now taking up most of the screen.
Added
Equip-able items can now be equipped!
A (simple) Leveling system has been introduced to the game. Once you reach 100 EXP you gain access to it and can spend your EXP as a currency to purchase various options to increase your stats.
Added Three World Distortions to the game.
Removed old Realtime Combat System Placeholder; added brand new Turn-based Combat System.
An anonymous feedback button has been created and enabled to allow players to provide suggestions, bug reports, and so on all without having to leave the game.
Four new Generic Events
Two new City Hall Events
Two new Forest Events
Two new Residential District Events
One new Enemy-Type
Added New Spell and its Associated Ritual
Buttons now have responsive sound effects for hover and click operations.
Downtime Activities are now available
Added the 'Archives' sublocation to City Hall. Gaining access to it requires either particular companions or a Membership, purchasable from the Governor (not currently implemented) or gifted from the Librarian (not currently implemented).
Locations can now require Conditions and Items to enter
Enemies have information that can be learned from them; additionally, observing your enemies provides experience points.
Added a variety of Game Events to Flowers in the Mist to begin personalizing the tale, though it is not yet complete.
Added placeholder locations for future expansion: Church, Black Market, Manor
Added Luck to Dice Rolls. For every 2 points of the Stat you have there is a 1% chance that any rolled die that rolled below 5 will get increased by one pip. When a 1 is rolled there is a 1% chance for every 5 you have in Luck that it'll get re-rolled once. (Please note the Probability calculator in events *will not* take these factors into account)
Character Classes can now provide a variety of buffs to their respective Characters in addition to Starting Actions and also determine what Downtime Activities the Character can engage in.
Added Street Bard to the Downtown Location. You can gamble your XP with the Street Bard in hopes to gain Funds and possibly free Accessories. The difficulty of selling your tale increases with the amount of XP you're trying to auction off, but also increases the potential for rewards! The trait used for these checks is your Mystique.
Added Settings Window to the game (accessible on Main Menu and by pressing ESC at any time)
Known Issues
Some buttons do not presently have sound effects attached to them or only have one type of sound effect attached
World Distortions are drawn randomly each time you reach the Overview Stage regardless of their settings and some don't function properly or display their effect.
Bathe and Launder, Do Research, Perform Ritual, and Do Odd Jobs are pretty thin in the mechanics department at the moment.
None of the other Downtime Activities besides Bathe and Launder, Do Research, Perform Ritual, and Do Odd Jobs are presently implemented.
Observe does not display an on-screen indicator for the enemy's next action even when you should know what that is.
You can't go back from a Sublocation to a Location and can only Return to the Map to return to that Sublocation's parent Location.
There's nowhere to view enemy information you have learned.
You can only visit the Display and Audio pages of the Settings menu at this time. Additionally, Display settings are not persistent at the moment.
There's no place to view your present Conditions or review your present Spells.
Learned Rituals can't be cast at Homebase.
The Rusty Knife can't be equipped yet (this is due to a refactoring between the old version of Equipment and the new one, will be fixed in next patch)
