Mini-update #3 : Mulling over Confrontations


Prototyping is well underway for the Confrontations portion of the game. There's a lot of moving parts in there so it's taking time to get put together. I'm thinking of building it with some inspirations taken from Inscryption's first chapter's card game and how the Arkham Horror boardgame runs it. I wouldn't want it to be the same as AH because it's pretty shallow mechanics-wise and I'd worry that it'd get boring or that demand for an auto-battle button vs random encounters would rise sharply.

I want confrontations that are random to be fast and limited and confrontations with Heralds and the Adversary to be expansive and difficult. Still playing around with all the core concepts, though.

More to come while I ponder how to smash together the Persona S-Link system with Arkham Horror and Inscryption's mechanics. I do have a working prototype though!  Here's some screenshots of its early days in action.
