[!] Abandoning Patreon; Onboarding SubscribeStar

Following a wave of recent and fuzzily-targeted bans across the Patreon platform, I can't help but feel Patreon will find a way to oust horror games on its platform next after it convinces adult creators to leave the platform. Perhaps I'm still feeling the sting of betrayal from GameJolt, but I'm starting to hear the same echoes I did then of sanitation and 'pivoting for investors'.

So, in solidarity and in expectation this will come to pass, I'm migrating the Forgotten Workshop's subscription nexus from Patreon to SubscribeStar. Like Patreon, SubscribeStar is a way for creators to receive monthly donations from fans and for fans to get exclusive content and support their favorite creators in exchange. (This post is not sponsored by SubscribeStar)

The page is still under review so I can only post text and images to it at this time, but I expect it will be greenlit will before the game is ready for early builds. Given that To Ash and Ember does include (optional) artistic nudity, I felt it best to put it on the 'adult' section of the site. This does not mean that To Ash and Ember will become an 'adult game'; rather, it just means I intend to keep some of its themes of the fragility and mutability of the human form and spirit. (in other words body horror, transformative elements, and the occasional gory bit)

As always, you do not need to contribute your money to help To Ash and Ember succeed -- a wishlist on Steam goes a long way, too! (So does convincing your friends to wishlist it!)

However, the immediate inflow of money can greatly help stabilize my life situation and let me bring in  helping hands to get this project done and nicely.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to seeing you all over on SubscribeStar!
